After suffering with misting headlights for 12 months on my Z4, I have decided to change them to after market headlights so have purchased the ones below, Pretty straight forward to fit and wire up, but I want to have the Halo lights on permanently when the ignition is switched on as DRL's, my intention is to fit a relay to power them but where do I take the feed from, any ideas please as said this feed needs to be switched through the ignition system.

Thanks for any help.

There are some "spare" ignition fed ports in the fuse box mate. Easy enough to locate using s test light, you can use an "add-a-fuse" type connector to tap in. It's also easy to access the fuse box from the engine side too.

Hibernating Lee. Just woke up and trying to sort me car out, needs a load of work MOT in two months, had a rattle from underneath the car, loose heat shield (bracket broken) under the diff slam pan, been driving me mad, still not fixed but will be soon, brake pipes corroded from front to back, New tyres all around, New headlights to fit, new Bonnet release cable it snapped on me last Saturday, Oil Service was supposed to be done last Saturday until the bonnet release cable snapped, Air filter, new Plugs. Wheel alignment same time as new tyres booked in for Saturday gone for Yokohama all around. First time I have used these but £461 all in, supposed to be meeting up with Peteslag on Saturday/Sunday this week end but this is now in doubt as I need to get the bi*** done. Expensive month should have stayed in Hibernation.

I think those are the same lights I fitted to my Z3. They work really well, but the halos aren't bright enough to be daylight running lamps. They look good in the twilight  but in full daylight you don't really see them. So I just wired them into the sidelight circuit.

Yes Please Tony would help a lot, not been into the fuse box much...
Hey Jim, these are the views of the fuse box (without removing the glove box - which comes out with 6 self tappers)

Remove the glove box to access the fuse box. I found an ignition fed port which was unused (not fused) and tapped into this with a male spade terminal. This was port No.2 in the fuse box.

I then fitted an inline fuse holder armed with a 20A blade fuse to power the live (red) feed cable to the rear mounted socket and fitted a ring terminal on the (black) earth cable. You just need a male spade terminal to tap into the fuse port.

This is the top under bonnet fuse box access. Remove the box top (4 Torx screws) the access through to the fuse box is a round hole (1" dia.) at the bulkhead end.

Remove 4 screws and lift off box top.

This is the feed for my DRLs which comes out through the rubber grommet at the front.

Hope these help mate.
