Hi I am new to this site and was looking for info on fitting a smaller steering wheel to my Z3. So far locally I can find an adaptor bos for the E30 series and need to know if this will do the trick on my Z. Any ideas out there. I have the 1997 2.8 in Red. Think it will be a classic. Done 96,000 kms ( 60,000 miles) Of course we do not get rust here at all. :coolsteer) Cheers Nick.

Hi and welcome and i'm sure somebody will answer your query soon.

There is a growing group from summertime South Africa on here so you will all have to get together for some piccies.

We've forgotten what the sun looks like here, wettest year on record is the rumour flying about.

Welcome Nick. I think I'm right in saying this, you will need a single stage airbag steering wheel for your car. A raid steering wheel is smaller but will need converting. Several people have fitted smaller steering wheels and I'm sure will give you more information. Anyway, where's the pics of your car... :D

Mike if you are missing the rain you can have some of ours with pleasure. I am surprised you have not had much rain considering the east coast of the uk has had a lot.

Welcome to Zorg Nick!

Not sure if you have seen this article in our wiki area? http://zroadster.org/wiki/bmw-z3/mo...ng-a-smaller-steering-wheel-by-mike-fishwick/

Also worth a read through Jonttt's progress thread (watch out it's vast!) as he fitted a smaller raid wheel too. http://zroadster.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=45

Some piccies would be nice ;)

Gary

Re: new member Johannesburg South Africa

Hello. Trying to upload my Z3 pic. Bit slow at this. Bit slow at most things theses days. Anyhow thanks for the links on the steering wheel. I think as long as the adaptor/ bos works thats the main thing.

Here is a bit of news off a local web site to make you chuckle!

Police in Gauteng said they have not experienced any major crime incidents in the province since the start of the festive season.
They say only isolated incidents of house robberies, murder and business robberies were reported.
Small businesses operating for long hours were the hardest hit by crime.
The police's Lungelo Dlamini said thousands of people have been arrested for various crimes.
He also said their biggest breakthrough was in the Muldersdrift area.
Dlamini added that major operations over the past two weeks in the North Rand, Soweto and West Rand also yielded many arrests.
"More than 459 people were arrested for various crimes including drug trafficking, [possession of an] unlicensed firearm, possession of stolen goods, drunk driving, rape and assault."
He said the police will do their best to ensure law-abiding citizens have a peaceful remainder of their festive season.

" And don't forget over 1000 killed on our roads from the start of the holidays and people still have to travel home"

but we have the sunshine

The other pic is my security system.

Cheers Nick :coolsteer)

'Hoe is het' or 'hoe gaat het' in Dutch.

German army, referring to the 'Duitse Herders' dogs in the photo.
