Good morning all, pleased to meet you. After 20 years messing with E36 and E46 M's I currently own a 1999 high milage Imola red S50 Z3M Coupe.

I have started a mini resto sorting the rust and replacing various worn trim and components, and have reached a point where I'm squaring up the front end.

I took of the bumper to sort some issues behind it and found the car is missing its oil cooler air duct, and the left and right radiator air ducks, which form BMW look to be hundreds.

I just wondered if there are any people on here who break the Z3s, or have any second-hand items that they are willing to part with.

Many thanks :)

John

Car before I pull it to pieces at the weekend

Funnily enough when I looked in to rebuilding a front-ended Z3M the cost of those air ducts was one of the big things that put me off. The price is obscene isn't it?

Have you tried ebay in US & German ebay?

Plenty of oil cooler ducts on ebay, but not cheap £150 plus. The left and rights ducts are brake cooling ducts unless the MC is different to the MR....not sure it is different.

Similar price, I will end up going to dealers one they reopen, just shame last owner had not had them put back after some bonnet work lol.

Thanks so far ;0)

Ducts are these things :

Circled left and right. ;0)
The 2 ducts behind (7 & 8) fit on the rear of those and are directed to the front brakes

Thanks for your comments. I was not saying you were wrong. I was just saying I need the things in the picture, not the brake air ducts ;0)

And for the sake of clarity, the things I need are also called Air Ducts. Go figure.

cheers

John

Didnt think you were for a second.. My point is I think you will find both parts are for the brake ducts and not for the rad or at least they are on mine. Looks like you need it all then for the front underside? Don't envy you having to buy it all.

I think the ducts force the air to the radiator and help support the oil cooler ducting. The temp sensor for the heated washer jets also fits into the right one, so it's just dangling about.

They sit, as I guess with yours either side of the rad.

Thanks everyone for your help. I found a picture that illustrates better what I'm going on about.

These air ducts, (as called by BMW not me) I believe help air from the grill in the bumper to the oil cooler. There should be one aside. The expensive M ones have a different shape edge to the none M ones, hence the M price, but I should be able to trim them to fit now for quick fix. Again thanks for all the help and advice.

I have regular ones if you need them.
