Saw this on the news last night Brian. Would it be a bad thing? Would be a fantastic tourist attraction, will they let BMW groups meet there lol??? =))

If they do do it and move the classic collection there we could get to see what else they have hidden away in the various warehouses. Get to see the Bond cars when they are out for prep prior to some events at one of the places I visit.

Fair point Brian. I think it may well go through. Seemed very detailed on the news last night.

Very true Wayne, I think it's about time the circuit owners got together as a group and stood up to Ecclestone who's keeps on having their pants down for the right to hold a GP. Maybe it's time they all charged him for the right to hold his show on their circuits, no circuits = no races = no F1. He is rich enough!

I seem to remember a couple of years ago that there was a battle going on between Silverstone and Brands Hatch about hosting F1 and BH spent a hell of a lot of money on upgrades to the track....maybe going back there then?
F1 will never leave the UK, it is its home.

the problem is that Silverstone is the only place it could be held and to be honest could silverstone survive without it?
theres only 3 events that i can imagine that make that place major money F1, silverstone classic and the touring cars.
withdraw F1 and the track as we know it will be done.
Beirne knows this and that's where he has them by the short and curlies.
If silverstone tried to charge him to hold the the race their then he would simply cut it off the calendar.

don't forget....Beirne has no loyalty to the british grand prix ....he sold the tv rights to sky and the bbc only managed to get half of the races...F1 is about the highest bidder not the sport its self

I agree but he's doing that to every country, they can't keep building new circuits which have only been used a couple of times and then forgotten, even Austin is under a cloud for next year already and there can only be so many races in a year. Bernie's rich and might think he's God, but he ain't there yet!

Wishful thinking Stace, I hope you're right, but I doubt it while Ecclestone needs his pound of flesh every year.
