I believe somebody lost their dog today whilst out walking, a friend up the road measured some hailstones as up to 3" round.

We have one hailstone in the freezer which I will photo later. My son took the photo's of the cars whilst I was mending roofs and windows.

OMG that's awful, gutted for you. We were the same as others, came home from work and wondered what had happened to other halfs car covered in sand.

I don't remember the weather forecast saying anything about hailstone last night, just heavy rain.. you would never think it could happen here :-o

Sorry this has happened :(
Someone was only telling me the other day that the dent repair people came into being in the usa because of their frequent hail storms that damaged their cars, makes sense really.
Hope it all gets sorted.

Hi Brian and Sheila :-h

Don't worry about the parking at Zedfest, come and park by us, I'm sure there'll be plenty of fellow Z3 owners offering comical advice, so be prepared. Please let us know if we can help in any way, hope you get on alright with the Insurance people, is it classed as an act of God? :-?

The people coming to replace the front screen in Sheila's car are coming from Bournemouth as everybody else is that busy. The caravan is damaged as well and there are nearly 700 vans is the storage site. New BMW being written off because they cant repair the aluminium body panels so the car needs a new shell. Created carnage around here but we are all ok and I have sympathy for those who are flooded as that must be the worst thing.

But the fix is coming on for both cars and might, only might be ready for 21st

One insurance/repair centre is flying some specialists in from America to pull all the dents out. I was talking to one of the recovery drivers and he has brought in 180 cars for repair since Friday.

It's been for the insurance quote and we are getting used to the new colour scheme, do you think it will catch on? It's a new name for the car 'Bubbles'.

We have heard back from the insurance and it it going to be fixed and should be ready for end of September Hurley Burghley.

Just got the caravan and Sheila's to sort now.

A family friend who is a professional photographer has been making a living photographing cars affected by this for insurance cases. Some small private dealerships had all of their stock affected.

They are being repaired by a team brought over from the US (may be the same as you refer to above).

At least the roof got no dents ;-)

It's either having a new bonnet, or the second hand one I have, resprayed and the rest of the dents removed. The paint isn't damaged at all and I have seen some that have been repaired and you wouldn't know.

There are dent specialists over here from Italy, Spain, Aus and the US. There are more than 7000 cars affected and that is just the insurance claims must be at least that not worth claiming for.

The roof has got to have a new screen though.
