New Sills

Had the sills off this month and 20 years of tin worm revealed Have posted just some of the pictures below.

Just thought the cost of the work would be of interest to members - £750+Vat which included the new sills (£130 each)

I used a small specialist in Southampton - Everyway Soloutions - who photo'd everything - Tim was just great.

Did the treat underneath as well and remove the Jack pads? If so good service.

Haha that looks familiar - though my sill covers were not as bad as yours - still opted for new ones though - a bit of a no brainer at the price.

Not too far from you - mine was done at Sandydown near Stockbridge - though this was part of a bigger overhaul that also included attending to scabs & corrosion on tailgate plus front & rear arches, repainting the doors to resolve lacquer peel, & repainting the front bumper after a pheasant strike. Only the roof and bonnet escaped the spray booth this time!

How was the pheasant ? Not much left for dinner ? Agree - new sills are no brainer, although my guy did offer to repair !

Your breadvan looks great even in that state - nice colour - always fancied one, but could justify one to the management .......

Mine was also part of other bodywork - rear wings and doors had the usual dings and marks - so seemed a shame not to do it all at same time. Just interior now to spruce.

BMW stealer, I believe is still the only place to get new.
