We have just purchased our selves a daily driver, so as not to clock up miles on the Z4
She is a 2004 X3 3.0 Auto with 54k on the clock, full leather and satnav. I think the first things i will be changing will be the wheels. The first thing we will be doing is getting her a proper valet inside as the seats look dirty no scuffs or marks just dirty

Oooh looks nice mate, lovely spec to. Jue's freelander is due to be changed next year and we'd discussed the X3 as a good upgrade. Would you mind sending me a pm with the price so I can see what the money gets you. That's the sort of age we'd be looking at.

They are a lovely car to drive. We saw loads that dealers are calling mint only to find them being dogs. Found this one up in Wigan, it has a couple of marks, some will machine polish out the other on the bumper will need a respray but for what we paid we costed that in to the equation and it still came out the cheapest by around £700 with the least mileage the nearest was £1000 over what we paid and for 11000 extra miles on the clock

I can personally Recommend Sean @ F5detailing if you don't have someone. JIM

Jim i will just be getting a local valet to do it as the inside does not require the cost of a proper detailer

My Audi A4 goes back on Wednesday :) replacement is a 8 month old VW Pasatt CC GT 177bhp should be good for crunching the motorway miles.

We have been looking for a while Dave. Seen quite a few but they looked as though they had been washed with a wire brush. Obviously went through those contactless car cleaners =))

Very nice Bill, yup, change the wheels and it will transform the look. The wheels you have now will make great winter wheels with proper tyres on.

I intend to change them but i am uncertain as to what type to go for at the moment. Have seen some but i keep going back to the ones like i now have on the Z4

Common upgrade for these Bill is the 19" tigerclaws that are fitted to the X5, you can pick them up quite cheap and look quite good especially if you freshen then up with a refurb.

Ooh forgot to mention be mindful of what tyres you put on and make sure they are all matching as the 4WD system on these cars don't like mismatched tyres as it winds the diffs up very easy and starts clunking.

You do need the tread depths very close to each other too for the same reason.

Tony.

Very nice Bill, wheels definitely need reviewed.

Always fancied either an X5/6 but get fearful over maintenance costs. Although anything this size, 4X4 or even exec saloons are expensive to keep up to standard.
