I've very recently got myself a project to tidy up.
High miler but fun, (now I'm learning how to drive her!)
Done a few trips with no issues, but just put away in the garage and the alarm keeps going off? All doors and boot fully closed, hood up ( had locked fine hood up and down up until now) any idea's?
just happened after getting home late so not investigated yet.

Hi Welcome, I had the same issue with my Z a few years ago, it turned out to be the sensor for the bonnet, changed the sensor and it's been fine ever since. Pete.

Thanks for your reply, yeah I'm guessing it's door or boot sensor as that all we've used today after going shopping in it.
I'm in it for the long hall with this little Z, it was cheap! Had an expensive audi sat in the garage and never really used it, so eventually got rid and now want something to love!

Bonnet sensor is a good call (replace it with one from an X5) also look in the boot, left side behind the carpet..the tilt sensor lives there, conveniently in a place that can hold water..it may be corroded or worse under water. I had a similar issue which seemed to be resolved with a new battery. ..oh and 2 clicks on the fob will lock it but will disable most sensors

:welcome: As said bonnet sensor and tilt sensor in the left lower boot section, if that's full of water you also have a leak into the boot.

Removed the tilt sensor from the boot and was rusted and literally bits falling off, so replacing that first. It was dry there but had been wet in the past.
