Became the owner on a 97 Z3 today. 64k orginal miles, nice car, well maintained. 3. issues; 1. Brake pad warning light , 2.constant seat belt warning light , 3. Sliding seats. What is easiest to fix? Priority? It is a gas to drive

Welcome Bugsy and congrat for the good car you purchased!:)
Looks as a classic Bond combo!;)
First emergency , in your case, is to check the brake pads, as when go up to metal on metal could be a high safety situation and damage the brake disc in the same time!
The others are just common small hobby works to be done.....anytime you can.:)

Welcome Bugsyjem!

Looks like you have a couple of the standard issues most new Zed owners face.
  1. Brake warning light, visually check your brake pads and rotors/discs they are probably in need of replacing!
  2. Could be one of many things, but usually the wiring loom under the seats. If you can get hold of one from eBay.com get hold of a B800 Airbag reset tool. This will tell you where the fault is, and then reset it once rectified.
  3. Sliding seats, you need to speak with @Aceman who makes replacement bushings for them. Click this link for more details - https://zroadster.org/pages/BMW-Z3-Z3M-Seat-bushes-for-Roadster-Coupe/
Feel free to shout back with more information on the problems you mentioned, or any new ones you find. The Z3 is a nice easy car to work on, so if you are handy with a wrench you should be able to sort yourself!

:welcome: bugsyjem.

As Gary has already kindly pointed you in the right direction with regards to fixing your seats there are some good instruction links on that page which I am sure will give you an insight as to what is required. It isn't a dificult job and easily done by yourself if you follow the tutorials and videos.

Would love to see some pics of your zed so when you get chance pop some up so we can all have an ogle, don't worry if it is not looking its best at the moment we all start somewhere we just love our zeds. :coolsteer)
