Hi all, here from Bristol, UK with a new-to-me '97 Z3 2.8!

Picked her up last week, she's on 212k, previous owner said the owner before him was a mechanic and replaced the engine at some point. No proof, so I have to err on the side of caution and assume this to be false, but it's a nice thought.

My partner and I are absolutely loving it so far! The car definitely isn't perfect - as one would imagine with this many miles, it's wanting quite a bit of love in terms of electrics, running gear (bushings!!), bodywork, and so on.

The plan is to keep it for summer and have some fun, then decide whether to keep it longer term as a bit of a project. As I'm sure many of you can relate to, I'm already struggling to not dive in head first and empty my bank account on new parts... Just need to prioritise what's really worth doing, in case I don't end up making a project of it.

I've been reading about ZedShed, awesome to see a group of you with a workshop! Sounds like a lot of fun.

Anyway, glad to be here, joined after spending hours reading through the wealth of knowledge I've found here.

Cheers, Raf.

Hi and welcome from me. As I’ve gathered reading through the Zedshed forums you will have seen photos from the rear beam so if not done they will need doing at some point if you plan to keep the car but saying that it didn’t stop me from enjoying mine untill I wanted to do something about it. Enjoy your spring and summer and that should give you an idea where to go with:coolsteer)

Thanks all! Rear beam will definitely be my first major task if this turns into a project.

Welcome from another member from Bristol. If you also do FB join the Z3 AV8 group. Some nice meetings at the AV8 cafe Kemble when the weather improves and it’s a nice drive from Bristol.

Thanks colb, that sounds great, cool to hear there's a local Zedshed group! Will shoot you a DM.

Cheers daz, I generally avoid FB to be honest but that sounds nice, so I'll stick my head in when we have some fairer weather :)
