Many thanks for letting me join, not an owner ( Yet ) but in the market and actively looking for a long term keeper. Selling off my TVR project as because of ill health I simply cannot continue to work on it, need something with power steering and auto transmission...and reliable..and where better to find info and available cars than here !

Hi Antony, welcome from me near Lincoln. Best advice is drive as many as you can before dipping your toe in the water. My car is Z4 3.0i Auto. If you get down near me you are welcome to have a drive. Where about in the NE are you?
