The engine hadn't run in five years and the sump "oil" was mostly paraffin. We think it may have been run on paraffin at the end of its last tour of duty.
All the electrics had been disconnected and all the fuel hoses were disconnected, but not plugged.
New filters, new oil, tappets checked, timing cover gasket and oil seal. Electrics checked. Ignition heater tested. The first battery wasn't up to the task, and the starter was struggling to turn it over. Injectors were removed to make sure there wasn't a hydraulic lock. New battery jumping the existing one and...
