Let's be honest there was no chance of me getting home without going through the Peak's with the top down - only seemed fitting on the basis T515 BJB has travelled more miles today than it has done since 2015.
Looks like you enjoyed your drive home:thumbsup:

Week 1 - managed to sort the aerial grommet in between all the rain we have had so all MW LW & FM options are now availavle. Well worth the £8.95 Sytner Sheffield wanted not that I ever use the radio

Week 8 - picked up T515 BJB this morning after it's first service in my ownership - only needed new filters (oil, air & fuel) a break fluid change and 6.5 litres of 5w30.

Mechanic said he couldn't belive it was over 20 years old - so on that note I promptly celebrated with an 80 mile run round the Peaks

Week 9 - windscreen washers had stopped working ommiting nothing but a dribble so after a quick search on here I had all the info required to sort it out.

Removed the washer jets cable and motor electrics and then the 2 bolts to release the water bottle - emptied the washer fluid out that was full of crap and cleaned the bottle a filter.

Jets now back to normal operation but can't help thinking the water bottle looks like something from an HGV rather than a 2 seater roadster - emptied a 5l bottle of washer fluid and it still wasn't full. Shame BMW didn't take the same approach to the cup holder solution :whistle:IMG_20200904_200129.jpg

hello RickyBobby,

i had the same problem, however I cancelled my MOT as the pump was working but not pumping, promptly got a new one from work, removed the tank as you did to find the filter full of slime and gunge, once cleaned it worked perfectly, I now have a spare washer pump and it passed the MOT

Week 32 - can't believe it's been so long since I posted an update but with the enforced lockdown situation still in place it seemed like an ideal time to get T515 BJB ready for summer ahead of it's annual MOT & service which isn't due until June. So at the start of the week I dropped it in with my local specialist for a new viscous fan, coolant tank, ABS sensor and A/C re-gas. Went to pick it up today and also took the opportunity to fit the refurbed style 18's that I'd previously aquired off another forum member.
So that's it all done a ready for summer so now all I need is the sun to come out and the restrictions to ease - not. To much to ask is it? :coolsteer)

Week 38 - so having finally managed to source an original head unit in great condition the Sony flip off unit is gone and T515 BJB is back to its original specification. Now where did I put all those old cassette tapes?

Week 53 - it's saved my bacon before so I thought I'd take the spare wheel out today and give it the once over and a quick clean. Hopefully I won't need it again but it makes me feel better knowing its there ready to go.

Not much to report, but I’ll keep RickyBobby’s original thread alive for future updates.
Only things done to date are a thorough wash and wax polish, replacing the tired boot lid gas struts, and replacing the air box to manifold connector.
Noticed it had split while checking the fluids.
A couple of things to investigate over the coming weeks - ABS/ASC lights have come on.
Also suspect driver’s side front shock - if it stops raining over the next week I’ll get the front wheels off and take a look. Given the age of the car it would probably benefit from a new set of bushes.

A bit of work over the last couple of days.

Stripped down front suspension to find worn out shocks with only the slightest hint of any damping effect and disintegrated bump stops.
As I’ve got a bit of time on my hands I decided to give the front suspension a bit of a refresh.
Replacement OEM Sachs struts, strut top bearings, anti-roll bar bushes and control arm bushes ordered from Eurocarparts.
Original springs in decent condition - just gave them a clean up and a couple of coats of black Hammerite.
