As everybody and his dog seems to have a big 4x4 type vehicle these days most car park spaces are just too narrow, still the same width as years ago.

Just make the spaces bigger. Then they would need half as much line paint. You don't have this issue to worry about in the USA, where all cars are bigger. But then, in most instances, more cars spaces means more money.

I love this idea 🌞
I really wish it would be done around my way 👍

I use my Blue Badge for the wider spaces  ;) Makes life so much easier.

Costco have sensible bays with the double line.

Not unique to Oz

I like it when my daughter comes to stay as we use parent and child parking slots; mid thirties now mind!
Other than that, park at far end of carpark away from the lazy folks who are most likely to dent your car. Just my opinion of course!!

Same here , I always park as far away in the car park as I can , but I can always guarantee that when I go back to my car a big van or something else is always parked beside me, even though there could be lots of spaces near me too .🌞

I hate car parks. Everyone just parks as close to the shop as possible. I always park way over the other side of the car park on my own and walk a bit further.

But cars a like magnets. No matter where I park you can bet that when I come back to my car some pillock has parked too close next to me. Do they do it on pupose?

lol the same thing always happens to me and then it makes it difficult to pull out of the space because you can’t see 🌞

If they made car parking “slots” at a slight angle, instead of at 90 degrees, it would be easier to pull in and back out. The only drawback is the lanes need to be “one way”, which on its own is no bad thing.

When my daughter was in the age bracket to use supermarket parent and child spaces I used the Z on occasion.

On one occasion I parked up, roof up, got out of the car and some tw4t started having a go at me for parking in the p&c space. I pointed at the sign with the requirements, walked around the Z, opened the passenger door, reached in and took my daughter c/w child seat out, closed the door and walked past said tw4t and stated quite loudly 'it pays to have learned to read when you were at school'.

I'm a late life first time father c/w grey hair.

True tony, although there's many folks who would struggle with that concept

ideal solution is to make all spaces bigger, lose a couple off each row - after all many cark parks are never full. You could also do away with parent and toddler spaces too, if everyone was larger.

There are odd times that you see someone going the wring direction in a Walmart parking Lot. But, that is usually down to Darwin, as they've pulled through a double empty spot in the first place.
That in itself is against the law as vehicles are only required to have rear number plates.

And even then some can’t park straight, largely because they’ve backed in.
