After my car developed a paint problem with micro blisters and lacquer peeling on both back wings and front doors it has turned into more than expected. Here is a few photos of the work started and as I speak the primer is being flatted today after extensive rubbing down.View attachment 72170

It always does, and because they small you end with a full respray in no time!

That red is going to be great when fresh. Most are faded and tatty. Will feel like a Ferrari after this ;)

Sorry you have had a problem, your car always looks immaculate to me, a credit to Cliff's hard work. Hope it is soon back to looking it's best.

Should look great when finished, are you having the wheels freshened up to match?

Thanks both.
Yes the car always looked great and shine was never an issue but its recently started getting blisters that have gradually got worse and worse leading to lacquer peeling. The guy used an air line and a lot of lacquer just came off it was very loose.
It was an under the lacquer issue and has had to be really taken back hard its now primed and he is flatting it back today ready to be masked again and painted.

It's the best time of year to get these jobs done, all ready for the summer .
Look forward to seeing the finished job.

Steve.

Been told its all finished and put back together but staying in the bodyshop for the weekend.
Picking up on Monday. Been told not to wax it for over 2 months to let gasses escape and cure
You learn something everyday just a gentle wash occasionally.

Yup. 90 days is the going rate to cure apparently, especially this time of year when it's colder. Lots of washing to keep the paint at its best 'till you can wax it. You can polish it though.

Great job! Red, IMHO, is the colour that displays a car at its very best if 'blooming' can be prevented. Happy days
