Pesky ABS/ASC Lights are on. and a few other gripes.

Hi all,
been a while since i posted on here. since my last post i've spent some pennies on my lovely zed making her a bit more refind. in the process of changing the lowered springs for standard ones i've found my ABS & ASC lights stay on. is this to do with a wheel sensor? i assume it means niether are working and with it being a 2.8 i think i need both. if someone can guide me to a solution i'll get the spanners out.
the other thing that's started is recently is that it pulls to the right fairly enthusiastically. again, is this a simple fix?

Just had something similar on ours. I had been refurbishing the front suspension as well and I guess because when I took the hubs off I trned the ignition on to release the steering lock and the wheel sensors were disconnected. When I put it all back together and moved the car both ABS and in my case DSC lit up.

Solution is you need the code reader INPA to access the ABS module and it will tell you which wheel is causing the fault. Mine showed both fronts so when I cleared the faults no more lights.

It might just need the codes clearing. Where abouts are you as I'm sure somebody here will be able to read the codes for you and perhaps no need for spanners.

Pulling to the right sounds wheel alignment unless under braking.

saying that i have a bmw specialist at the end of my road. irronically he did the suspension. i'll ask him too.

The speed sensors are a pain to get out. I tried with one of mine and failed.so left it. They have to be destroyed to get them out so hopefully clearing fault codes should help.

The other reason for pulling to the right is a sticking brake caliper but if as you says it pull enthusiastically you would notice the smell or heat from the drivers side caliper.

I am a bit far away for hands on help.hope you get sorted.

The ABS / ASC will reset its self after self diagnosis if all is well, therefore if it is not resetting after a short drive normally 30 seconds, then you have a fault, and as Brian says you need to hook it up to a code reader to find out what the fault could be, it may be a faulty sensor or it could be the ABS module or a broken wire, either way the codes will point to the relevant issue.
