Hi all.
Serviced my car,new oil, filter and air filter. Also changed the cam cover gasket, to fix a minor leak.
Today after a 5 mile drive. Restarting took quite a lwhile, which has never happened. Any ideas?

Mine (almost) always starts instantly.

I said 'almost' because if I drive 5 miles and park up for half an hour then it can take a while to start.

If I just parked up for 5 minutes then there's no problem. Few hours also no problem. But just half an hour 45 minutes to have a cuppa and a sticky bun and it'll be reluctant to start.

I always assumed it was the cold start whatever its called (choke in the old days) coming in making it too rich while the engine is still warm.

Can't remember last time it happened. Now I just make sure that (a) I don't stop. Or (b) order a pot of tea instead of a cup and double sticky buns.

I've checked and everything seems plugged in ok. One thing, I 'fogged' the airbox so have an air feed going straight into the box at the front with a small pipe feeding in cold air. the hole that did attach to the original pipework was blanked off, I noticed that this blank has fallen off so hot air from the engine is getting into the air box (before the filter); could that be effecting a hot start?
