A year ago to the day, I added a 1999 m roadster to my z4 m roadster. The car has the s50 engine, has a hard top, and a two tone blue and black interior, and estoril blue paint. The car came with an extensive, and full history, which included a briefcase containing all tax discs, insurance, and all bills it was in lovely condition inside and out. It was a car that Id alsways admired as a younsgter, but coulnt afford when the kids where younger.

As i drove it home after the purchase some 300 miles, I must be honest that I although I loved the condition, and looks of the car, I felt the performance was a huge letdown, in comparison with my z4m. A few months ago I decided after talking with some of the experts here like Lee and Gaz, that I should look at oberhauling amd improving the car, and today that work has come to and end. All I can say the car as it is now is a beast, and so much fun to drive. Here a list works done.

1) Powerflex purple bushes all round.
2) H&R lowering springs,
3) Car lowered 20mm all round
4) H&R Anti Roll Bars fron and rear with poly bushes, set to soft.
5) Koni Racing Shocks all round.
6) EBC vented discs drilled and grooves all round
7) EBC red stuff pads all round
8) Simota carbon fibre intake
9) Eisenmann quad 80mm race mufflers.
10) Engine overhauled including new Vanos, valve clearance adjusted, and new head gasket.
11) Original Steering wheel refurbished with thicker leather finish, by Royal steering wheels.
12) Live remap.
13) Underbody proffesionally waxoyled.

Looking forward to this years cruises now.

Wow that's a good list of work. Must have cost a pretty penny!

Glad to hear it, sounds like everything I'd do if I had an M too.

I've done most of the mechanical work that you've done on my 2.8 apart from remap, intake and have to say the difference is night and day.
I wouldn't want to drive a standard Z with tired suspension ever again, really two different cars (dangerous to push on a tired car actually).
Before all the work I was thinking of changing but now it's a keeper.
You really bond with a car when you personalize the way it drives to your tastes.
First car I've kept this long actually!

Hopefully 'hear' you on some meets, I'm a sucker for a good exhaust note!

Enjoy.

Doesnt really look that different, as most of the changes are under the skin.
