Hi all,
Giving the car a detail this week.
Saw some chrome /metal Polish and said on packet not suitable for painted on chrome, use Polish instead.
I'm talking about the windscreen surround. Am I safe to use metal Polish? It's quite badly oxidised (I think that's the word, looks like flour sprinkled on it lol) normal car Polish needed a lot of elbow grease on a small patch then went back to oxidised look after 5 minutes. Any tips please? Cheers

Talking about the bit the sun is reflecting off here:

This will be crime plated, I imagine you'll be fine just don't go crazy and certainly don't use wire wool!

I have some of this in the workshop already so will give it a try, what are we saying about wire wool? Bare metal I'd usually use a 0000 grade on, but unsure if that would damage something?
Been googling stuff some say do some say don't. Apparently it can get 'un fixable' if really bad, mine looks bad. Even if I took off any protection with wire wool I could wax to protect, anything for it to be be restored

You don't need to protect chrome and believe me wire woll will not touch it, try the solvol, you might be surpised

And if it still looks bad there is body colour paint under there so you can take it off, it's just stuck on.
