Hi does anyone know of any place within the Manchester or surrounding areas that would be able to fix/repair/replace the diff on my 2.8

Are you sure it is the Diff.?
A member from the Birmingham area was told her Diff. was knackered but it turned out to be the N/S/R wheel bearing howling.

Definitely the diff ..makes a continuous drone and clunk at times
I had the same a while back, It turned out to bre a failing diff bush, metal to metal causing the drone, and clunking because it was cactus. It looked OK however..

It's unlikely to be the actual diff.

Without seeing/hearing it I wouldn't want to say what it is Andy. As I said a member was told her Diff. was knackered and about 100 yds. up the road @Mint and I agreed it was the rear wheel bearing. But I agree with you not likely be the Diff.

Hi all, I also have diff noise but only when coasting above 100km/h and some noise when reversing.
I had some clunks as well but most of them got sorted out last summer when I fitted new guibo and powerflex diff mount.
When I got it back from Schmiedmann they told they checked the half axles for play and that they concluded the sound is indeed from the diff 🧐.

Anyway, I will change diff oil myself next weekend, and hopefully, that reduces the sound a bit.

@Royalburger is your drone consistent at all speeds?

If it's a Torsen diff - which it probably is - they're known to produce a low level whine on a closed throttle, or power off.
