rear tapping

would anyone know whats making a bumping/tapping noise from the rear it seems to come and go and only happens when at 40mph or more ?

the car is fine when going over bumps so i just cant work out what it might be


any pointers would help

Have you noticed if you get it with the roof up and down? Might give a clue.

haven't had the roof down whiles its been tapping
it comes and go's but theses last few days it seems to be getting louder

just had a quick look they seem to be ok (rust free)

was hoping someone would of had the same problem i hate fault finding

Shock top mounts can knock when failing (even on flat roads), but it's difficult to diagnose when we are guessing where the noise is coming from.

i think that may be it by looking at other forums gonna see if i can get it looked at this weekend hopefully its not to pricey

Could be the grease from the input shaft into the diff has dried out. Quite a common issue when you start googling and a cheap fix if you can do it yourself.
