Sorry if this has been asked before! Search didn't show me any good result.

I'm in the process of retrofitting a hardtop to my budget 97 1.9 roadster. Got the K cable, mounts installed.
However I have not been able to source the actual switch it self. I know I can buy a new one from various sources, however we talking about 100£ or more for this little part.

Anyone succeeded create a DIY variant of this switch? I mean i assume the switch only turns on and off the current to the heating in the hardtop?
Does anyone have some info or experience on the connector in the center konsoll?

I'm hoping to be able to use something like this? (3£ variant)
