Hi again
I know I keep asking questions. I have a problem I have purchased two really good rear wings from two different sellers I have today been out to rub them down and prepare them to go on car guess what one is correct for my Z3 prefacelift narrow body, the other is for a wide body. So question is if I were to find another good wide body wing will they fit on my car. The reason I'm looking at going down this route is because I have purchased a body kit which is arriving this week from mad motors when I purchased this I could not have the rear part of the kit because it only fitted the wide body, so if I changed the rear wings to wide body I could then complete the body kit with rear end. Help will wide body wings fit.

Wide body wings should fit,but you may after have wide body sills as well ,as there wider at the rear than narrow body ones,I do believe.
Thanks
Jimmy.

So if the guy at mad motors has supplied me a kit for my narrow body preface lift the new side skirts won't fit if I put the wide body wings on.

There are two types of wide body wings. Pre and post facelift. They are very different

Would you not say there is just a single facelift fit? It might be nearer the pre-facelift widebody flare but it's the only facelift type.

How can I tell which one I have. I know the one I got first is correct for my preface lift narrow body. The other one has a different fixture on bottom it's like a small bracket that stands proud by around 2cm when measuring from top corner by boot lid corner down over curve of wing to edge of arch it's longer. It also looks like it has a flat face around archmore so than the correct one. I can see with this bracket on the bottom it's going to push bottom of wing out wider than door sill.
Think it may be find another correct one.

You can see the two types of wide body wings here. The silver is the facelift version where there is a bulge at the top of the wing. The wide body pre facelift blue does not have the bulge as the wing goes down from the boot edge.

The one I have is like the silver one from what I can see thanks. Thing is I can't fit two different wings although as some one once said to me you can't see both sides at same time lol. Plus looking at door sill on that it steps out at rear mine dose not it's flush all way back.

I have a rusty drivers side spare wing for free if you want a wide body pre facelift. Otherwise I am putting it in the dump. On ebay is a passenger side one I think near Marlborough

You're very welcome to. But we can probably do it without you needing to. I'll post a graphic a bit later to show you the difference.

Don't bother if it's fleabagmonkeyface. His gear is good, prices fine but is a difficult man to complete business with.

Narrow pre-facelift rear wings are a b*gger to find rust free. Widebody pre-facelift not that much better. Facelift easier.

The rear bumpers are different as well as the sills.

I have a rust free pair of widebody wings and matching rear bumper. The sills are sold.

Hi perhaps I can have a look and a chat when I see you Saturday I am interested. Then I could sell the two I have which believe me ar both rust free and after today have been primed inside and stone chip garded. And as you can see I've started to prepare one ready to fit then it's off to paint shop along with body kit. So this is a problem I could well have done with out.

Which is which the grey one is correct for my car.
I'm sure someone on here can identify them from those angles but for me I'd prefer to look from the rear end on.

The facelift has a very different profile at the top. It rises up and over in a curve. Both pre-facelifts just drop away.

On the pre-facelifts the gap between lamp and outside edge is really quite minimal on a narrow body and significantly larger on a widebody.

The blue wing certainly looks like a pre-facelift including the fact it's Atlanta Blue which is rarely seen on facelift (I think I may have seen it once). It doesn't seem to have much lateral bulk so it looks like a narrow body. As does the wing in primer from your car.
