Has any one had a remap done on the 1.9 engine and do they think it is worth the money to have it done. And are there any more mods that can be done on the 1.9 to make it preform a little better. I’ve rebuilt the head, changed the exhaust system to slightly larger bore and all stainless, and changed the air filter. She goes well but I was thinking a remap may just pep it up a little more. The reason I asked is there seems to be mixed opinions on this.

If it's the M44 (twin cam) it is a very tuneable lump. Zedonist did a lot with his. Biggest gains are to get it to 'breathe' better.
Thank you for your answer. I need to find a reputable place to get it done. One guy I phoned said I’d be wasting my time and there would be no gains.

And he would have been correct IF you're talking simply about a re map. In the main a non turbo engine will have little to gain unless you have improved fuel going in and exhaust gas coming out.

Tony.

I am off tomorrow to a company called Leadfoot racing to look into a couple of things. One is about a remap the second is to see how much a super charger will cost to have fitted. I’ve been told the mini super charger will fit and he will engineer all the fittings and fixture.
could be interesting lol. Yes I’ve got M44 and it’s de catted as well as the new k&n air filter and cobra stainless exhaust system right through and all new injectors and HT pack.
will let you know what he thinks.
look him up on web site he has a good following and feed back and is only 6 miles away from me.

Do you think so. It’s the one that fits into the OEM box not a cone one. It is a flat screen type that you can wash after goodness knows how many miles when it’s dirty.
I did it that way basically because I just don’t like the look of the cone type they look untidy under the bonnet when you lift it.
and I am not disagreeing with you over what you say. I have no idea which is best I can only go on what I read.
