Hi All

I have not been on the forum for a bit but i'm trying to get my Z3 back on the road for the summer. One thing i definitely need to replace is the battery, but looking on eBay i'm bamboozled by the number of options available and of course the last thing i want to do is install the wrong battery and damage my 17 year old motor.
Id be interested in hearing what other owners are using in their Z3s, not so much the make but the spec. Ive attached a photo of the info panel on my current battery its a 12V 74A 096 battery but i cant work out what the CCA number is and if i need a EFB or AGM battery. My car is a 2002 3.0. Any help appreciated.

No thought behind the spec on my part. It was an S3 put in by a previous owner that died so I replaced like for like.

Been in two years now without issue and was pretty cheap. Less than 3.5k miles a year, also a 3.0

Just been out to check and it’s actually slightly better spec than what I thought. My post above was quoting ECP website but I was looking at the wrong battery!=))

Check at your local motor factor outlet first. I needed a new Bosch S4, my local guy put my reg in his PC and came up with identical battery I was replacing at £76. Eurocarparts book price £100 dearer minus whatever deals they had going. Went with my local guy.

Mine came from Tayna batteries online company. Delivered quickly and packaged really well

Euro car parts with the SALE55 offer you can get a Bosch S4 Battery (Car Battery 075 4 Year Guarantee) for £64.49 which is similar price to Tayna. So ECP are ok if you can get the 50% + off offer.

Forgot to add the battery that I had replaced had a ECP sticker on it and was 10 years old and according to the service/maintenance details I have from previous owner cost £81!!!

Thanks for all the replies. I'm getting the picture that different variants of the Z3 require a different battery and that batteries that fit 2.8 and 3.2 models are not suitable for my 3.0 ?

Most suppliers & vendors ask for your car reg so the correct battery will be found to match it. You then just decide battery make/price.
