Did you end up buying either of these Clive? Wife’s trim has peeled away from the fabric, that’s my second question if anyone has done one recently,is the plastic piping part of the window that zips in?
Tried glueing it back but if you open and close the roof it eventually pops back off ,it just seems to have got brittle with age and shrunk ,shame as the plastic window itself is in good condition!

The plastic piping is part of the new window. I got a replacement around 10 years ago but can't remember the company name. It was in germany. The piping on the new roof was even narrower than the original so didn't cover the fabric in the corners. Nice and clear though.

Thanks for that, I fitted one years ago to my wife’s then 2.8 but can’t remember what comes out when unzipped!
Genuine back then cost about £100 from Cotswold, seem to have increased slightly 😂

I bought one from Cabrio supply. I won’t lie it was a bar steward to fit as the zip kept splitting. You have to get it lined up just right and then pray!!! Issue is roof shrinkage over the years but got there eventually. Defo do it on a warm day or in a warm garage!

If it’s just the plastic piping you want to change you can buy U channel trim, I’ve used it in pc builds. There’s a variety of widths etc that you might find suitable e.g https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/40512894...ar=675218637637&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Also another rear window supplier https://autosattlerei-as.de/produkt/bmw-z3-cabriolet-rear-window/ I’m sure that someone had this version on here.
Assuming we're talking about the plastic bead that runs around the edge of the rear flexi window then I can't see how the beading/piping could be replaced without replacinģ the window. The beading is stitched around the edge of the window. It not just clipped on

Certainly looks like less to go wrong, what window/ roof is it?
Just a cheap thing from an etsy seller in the usa. Around £180 with free delivery but had to pay around £50 in taxes. Fitted it myself.

I must confess I don't like the bonded in look. I really needed a roof. My old one was scrap still have a lot of work to do on the bodywork over the next year or so and didn't want to mucky up a nice roof so went for the cheapest. If ever I get this rebody finished the last thing on the list will be a trip to swansea for a nice roof.
