replacing key ignition tumbler, DME, EWS

I'm replacing my key ignition tumbler, all key locks, DME, EWS on my 1996 BMW Z3 and was wondering where the location for the DME and EWS is at? please help.

Think you'll find them behind passenger side glove box - it's a maze though. I've only been in there for EWS re-programming.

is it a simple plug and play with the one I order, or does it require some sort of reprogramming?

Sorry I have only programmed a new fob into an existing EWS box so limited knowledge. Have done it on my 98 Z3 and another member's 99 model - slightly different EWS boxes but same procedure. See https://zroadster.org/articles/3g-ews-remote-fob-programming.24/
