Yo,

I'm chasing a very intermittent problem with my Z, the M44 engine. Once in a while I'll get an extended crank time, hate it.

Thinking about replacing both the cam and crank sensor. Is it hard to do? Also, what brand should I go for? Delphi?

I would go OEM for these. Have only done the cam sensor on mine but fairly straightforward as I recall.

Delphi was OEM 😁 the new ones have much bigger magnets than the originals

Piece of cake mate. I did both plus cleaning the ICV in about 90 mins.

you only need to remove the top part of the intake manifold, follow the pelican parts intake removal guide until it starts talking about the fuel rail - no need to go that far.

I tied some string to the old sensor before pulling it up through the manifold, and then tie the new sensor to the same string and pull it back through. Worked really well to follow the same routing around the various obstructions.

Good luck!

Another question that came to mind, is it possible to do a crank relearn? Why do some vehicles require this?
