Elring is well regarded. It was supplied in my VANOS rebuild kit. Victor Reinz usually gets mentioned at the same time. I suspect one or both of them might be the OEM manufacturer anyway.

I fitted mine over a year ago. No problems
I did use some gasket sealer all round and also changed the oil feed seal as it goes brittle over time.( part number can be seen in photo 1) Its sits to the right of no 1 spark plug hole

Agreed mine on the M44 disintegrated as I tried to get it off.

I'm 99% sure that Victor Reinz is OEM. If you buy direct you get the part without the 11 digit number, so it would be no good for a concourse vehicle :) .
