Hi - I am new to forums - I am the proud owner of a 2001 Dakar yellow Z3 2.2 I am about to have trouble with the sill on one side and want to go ahead and replace both - my local BMW dealer in Belfast says the parts are not available from BMW would anyone know where the parts can be obtained ? I also want to upgrade the stereo the head unit is fine it’s a Kenwood something or other but want to sort out the stock sub with something better - lastly the plip key has stopped working and again BMW say they can’t replace it - it’s not the key- the key is transmitting at the correct frequency and ideas on how to fix ? I am willing to try any BMW dealer you could think off I know sometimes the UK dealer network can get stuff NI dealers can’t

Welcome! Great choice with the Dakar yellow Z3
Sills usually need to come from breakers or online now. Sub upgrade is easy enough using the stock location.
If the key’s transmitting, it’s probably the receiver or coding a BMW indie or auto locksmith should sort it.

Hi Peter and to the forum from me too in Stafford, England. I had some new sills from BMW last year. I got them from the dealer in Lincoln [Now Group 1]. They may have been among the last I suppose.

Dakar yellow a great colour.
That would not be good if sills become NLA with Bmw as they are a very common issue with the z3.
