Scuttle gardening!!

Decoded to remove the scuttle and have a clean as my heater fan has stopped working. I haven’t bought a new resistor or the square fuse yet but thought it worth cleaning the resistor and fan motor while had access.
Wipers were a nightmare to remove! In the end I put a spanner by the wiper arm and levered up slightly while tapping the thread ( nut on) until it released!
Scuttle was full of what seemed like 24 years worth of compost! Much cleaner now but stumped by the fan as the motor connections look fine and I checked and cleaned the resistor which also looks fine! Anyone else had this conundrum??

I love this forum! I have been obsessively trying to figure out why the fan motor wasn’t working when I stumbled upon the fact that it is linked to the same fuse as the electric windows. Took out the drivers mirror to find wire with a nick that must have earthed against the door. I resoldered the wire, change the fuse and voila! Working fan, mirrors and a/c . Big sigh of relief!!
