seat swap 2000 to 1997

hi all,
apologies for starting a thread that has been done to death
i have searched and searched but am still having bother with fitting some new seats in the old z.
they are facelift seats and my car is a 97
i bought some second hand leather seats and re dyed them now i have come to fit them. i got the new type connectors with the seats and some heater switches (think they were out of an m3 part numbers are the same)
i found what i think are the connectors for the switches after much searching, they were not near the the gear shift, theres nothing there only the window cables.
i think i will be ok splicing the wires for the power to the seats easy enough just a + and -, but i cant find the heater wires. from what i have read the heater wires are in the black (old type plug) only i cant get any reading from them when i test the switches. there is some power going to the switches as they light up when i turn the lights on.

i have looked in the fuse box but the heated seat fuse is not listed?
what am i missing, is the fuse somewhere else, does it need a relay? there is an unused space for one in the fuse box.
i am going out to try a continuity test to see if they are the same wires (it might work)
if the worst comes to the worst i will just fit them without heaters and faf with them when it gets a bit warmer outside
dam you haynes manuals for not making a book for this car.

seriously, any help would be fantastic

Did exact same thing last saturday. You will need a relay, PN 61368373700.

To test that the seats actually work, move the horn relay as they are the same part. You will then get a reading through the black plug

that is fantastic mate, thanks a million.
just another quick one, the old black plug has 4 wires 2 brown -earth and two others, yellow/ white and blue/white
but as far as i can make out there is only one wire on the new plug plus an earth for the heaters.
which one did you connect. my old seats werent heated so i dont know which does what. the continuity test showed they both go to the heater switch.
ps i am doing the passenger side first so if i do cock it up i can still drive it,

further testing now i know the relay is needed shows the yellow/ white and blue/ white shows the exact same readings on low and high setting
on low they go on and off, on high they stay on constant.
i wonder if on the old models the seat and back rest were different connections possibly? on the new its just one?
just going to connect the yellow and see what happens.

I bought the BMW adapter so that there was no need to splice but I believe the wiring should be

1x red and 1x yellow/red > white/red (white/yellow on pass side)
1x red and 1x yellow/red > brown
