It would seem that the 'go to' replacement seats for a period build are the early MGB seats. I have been looking and found old completely knackered ones for £200 ish, or rebuilt ones (or new ones) for stupid money. £1,400-1,800 a pair seems the going rate for new/ refurbed and recovered ones. That is without runners BTW.

Any info of where to get something very similar, or the MGB ones for a more reasonable cost would be appreciated.

I used Yvonne from eBay.

I just asked here to delete the headrest slots and to angle the font seams. The price on the advert is for sewn seams, pay a little more and ask her to "tuck and roll" the flutes, it looks far better.I normally pay about £50 for a used pair of seats from eBay but allow for new foams and seat diaphragms. go for the sheet rubber type as they are stronger than the webb type.
Moss ofter have deals on the seat foams. Go for the humped foams and you need reclining seats.

sewn flutes

Tuck and roll

Seat frames approx £50
Tuck and roll leather seat covers approx £400
New seat foams and diaphragms approx £250

Thanks.
I saw those cheap seats on ebay, but they look completely knackered. The reclining seats are from the later cars (1970 on) I think.
So, basically all I need is decent frames; as with new diaphragms, foams and covers they will be 'new' anyway?

You will throw everything away apart from the frames. reclining lever and the seat back lever (worth keeping the diaphragm as it has the clips which can be expensive)
If you speak to the guy with the advert he will sort a good pair out for you. He shipped mine as well but it is easier to ship without foams and covers. You don't need seat runners.

I also fitted some cheap heated pads to the seats
, very cheap from eBay although I haven't yet wired the up to the car.
