After a fully working, secondary air pump. Must be fairly cheap as most people remove these and throw them in the junk. It’s for an 2.8. Also considering deleting the whole thing, if I can’t find a cheap working one! Thanks
I can't think why you would bother looking for one. You do not need one, it makes no difference to MOT emissions and the car runs just as well with it removed.
I supply a plate to blank off the port on the cylinder head, and no that's not why I say get rid of it, I did this on my 2000 2.0 Z3. If I don't have any left I will be making some more. It's an easy DIY job. The bearings in the pump failed in mine and it made a horrendous noise.
So all I need to delete, is just your kit? No further screws etc etc. Would it make a difference if and when we came to sell? Or is it seen as a suitable upgrade if anything?
@t-tony blanking plate is the way to go, remove the connecting hose to the one way valve on the head then fit the plate once you remove the valve itself. Using the fixings for the valve substitute the plate, use some silicon for the gasket. Unbolt the air pump disconnect the electrical connector and tape it up out of the way. Removal will not affect the sale of the car in the future and it has no ill effect on the cars running. It was fitted for the USA market and their emmission requirements, its not needed in Leafy Herefordshire. There are of course members out there that want to keep the cars original as they left the factory.
