Two days before Goodwood Festival of Speed right rear coil snapped. So had that done. All ok until driving home and warning light came up on dash. Pulled over to check what it was, sequential gearbox failure/problem. Started car again and it seems like car was in 2nd 3rd gear. Drove like that for a while, stopped again and restarted and was ok. Since then has happened twice again. Called BMW today and they want £80 to run a diagnostic! Anybody have this happen to them? any thought on what i should do? Thanks Phil.

Which auto gearbox is it - Steptronic or SMG?
Diagnostic really is the first port of call, perhaps you have an independent BMW garage nearer that will be cheaper to read the fault codes...
