I have read several threads regarding the Simota + and - benefits
I read a Jontt's thread about the Simota, amazingly that was 5 years back and he had
trouble getting one then, so he got in touch with evolve to sort one, not sure is that still an option/route,
Jontt had a S50 then.
If anybody on here knows of a suppliers or a newly new for sale
please let me know
out of choice I like new things

Ray, I emailed Simota directly when I was looking for one a while ago. They gave me a price for them to supply directly. Just tried their website http://www.simotafilters.co.uk but it's not working on my ipad at the moment.

As for the effect, I loved having one fitted to my 2.0. Eventually sold it to @pete59, who has it on his 2.0 now.

Hi Ray, I have a Gruppe M induction kit on mine and love the noise it makes. Have you thought about these ? Not sure how much they are in comparison as it was on the car when I got it.

I've seen induction kits where you have an intake tunnel, then the filter, then to the engine.
Don't know is this one is of that type.
I don't want the K&N 57i type. Would like to benefit from the "RAM-air"-direct intake

After some extra research, apparently BMC also has this type of airbox (CDA - Carbon Dynamic Airbox)

Hi ray, I have a Simota, it was bought through Evolve around £250 iirc.

One thing I would like to know is how do you clean them? Does anyone know the best method?

I thought they were oil free, I did read somewhere about cleaning them :bookworm:

I think they have the details on their website, and I'm pretty sure they sell a cleaning kit form them.
