Well are the parts are here to replace my now 90k mile badly slipping Luk clutch and dual mass flywheel. I ordered the Valeo single mass flywheel conversion kit conplete! So far the packaging is good parts look fantastic! It has a sprung disk, solid flywheel, and all the bolts, bearings, and alignment tools to do the job. I am also replacing the clutch fork and pivot pin. It will be installed this Saturday and I will update the thread on fit finish and drive ability through the breakin. As well as first impression. Total kit cost $440 which is a bargain considering it's the flywheel and clutch.

@GazHyde I read through that thread! Pretty solid work and I adore his attention to detail. I usually end up in a rush and forget to take the time to clean and inspect everything. I decided not to go Light weight due to the drive ability issues that entail. I drive 100 miles daily for work so i need nice smooth engagement. I did however like the fact the Valeo includes everything and the flywheel can be resurfaced for $40 at most places if it ever needs to be.

Well worth the money. Flywheel is slightly lighter by maybe 3-4 lbs. Clutch disk is about 20mm larger in diameter along with the beefier clutch cover. Pedal feel is no heavier than oem. Engagement is solid. Crisp. More to.come tomorrow when I'm on the computer instead of my phone!

So I converted to the Single mass flywheel about 6k miles ago. A few details now that everything is going "smooth" I Broke in the clutch based on the 500 city miles rule. After that i have driven the normal commute along with 6 20 minute sessions (115 Miles total on track) at a local Motorsport event day on the road course at Charlotte Motor speedway. The Track time was great. Clutch felt Fantastic nice and positive every shift...time and time again at redline. downshifting felt great. During normal driving there is a bit of shudder during normal take off from a stop in first gear. It shudders about 4-5 times. I've been told by Valeo this is normal with the conversion kits due to the springs in the disk and the solid flywheel trying to match speed. Its not bad i can live with it. The gear box rattle at idle clutch out is pretty horrific. If you've ever heard a lightweight flywheel car it is that or worse. makes the car sound like an old diesel. I have grown accustomed to it and it doesn't bother me anymore. I guess it has all the characteristics of a lightweight flywheel setup in all honestly but is cheaper than a reputable Lightweight setup. Replacement parts will also be cheaper when i smoke this disk. I would definitely recommend it to someone in the market for a replacement DMFW just as long as you are aware it will chatter the gear box and first gear engagement will be a bit shuddering at times. Will be doing Virginia international raceway in October and back to Roebling road in september for more Track sessions. I will report back and keep this updated for anyone interested.
