Hi. Have had my Zed for over 3 months now and loving it. The plan was to get the garage built before the Autumn but it's not going to happen this year now. So my mind has moved to thinking about a cover for the Autumn and winter months. I have looked at some on Ebay and other specialist ones that are cut to patterns; they seem to range from £20 - £200 plus, does anybody use one and do I need to worry about them scratching the paintwork.

Any advice would be appreciated and Gaz sorry if the post is in the wrong place please move it if so.

Si,

All I know about covers is you need to make sure the car is clean before putting it on. Had one for my Z4 because it came with the car, and sold it on to the @EnthuZiaZT's.

All I can tell you is that you need to have the cover very securely tied/strapped to stop it chaffing against the car in the wind. Best bet is to try to aquire some over winter storage even if it means renting some space ie a garage nearby etc. or rent a garage from the local council?

Hope this might help, Tony.

Yeah I thought about the cleaning first, I guess that's best. I am looking at local storage too but there is not much around and it's not on my drive!

Don't know what the regulations are in the UK but lots of portable knockdown shelters are used here with a cover on the car. HTH Jim

I bought one from eBay for my old Zed for about £80 but I found that it scratched the car like Badman suggested above

When I got my current car I forked out for a Hamilton fleece lined cover and it's excellent and doesn't scratch at all. But the car must be clean that is so important.
