I'm off to watch Snetterton Stage Rally today. Will post photos later.

Anyone looking for an event to go to today, this should provide some fast, close up action.

if anyone does fancy meeting up for coffee, post here and I'll post where we've parked when we arrive.

Sorry mate, bit far for me and will be watching F1 anyhow, see Max Verstappen get on the podium...;)

@GazHyde can fix that for you, I like a bit of Rally.
good guess on Max, hope he was in your predictions!

Well at least in rallying, if you end up in a heap of broken bits, you can't blame anyone other than yourself or your Nav!

Group B inspired me as a kid, awesome machines.

Pictures, firstly the only BMW competing

but in my day, mk2 escorts didn't have sequencial gearboxes and blokes starring at laptops muttering words like "parameters "!

A jolly fine day out with my son. I'll post some of his videos once he's put them up on youtube.

Only one other zed in the carpark though!

Got any pics from when you were doing the rounds?
As for Verstappen, followed his dad and then him since he was carting.

I worked on Protons a few years ago mate, basically Mitsubishi cars, and they did ok back in the day. I met the original Stig at an open evening at the local Mitsubishi dealer's in Lincoln.

I've found the one and only photo of our old mk2, i'll scan it when I'm in the office tomorrow. Also found a couple of other photos that may be of interest!

this is the ONLY photo I've got of our old MK2. I say "ours" it was actually on loan to us along with a service truck and trailer.
We did the Snetterton Winter Series for one winter, which "I think" was six events, 8 stages per event.
We only ever finished one event coming 26th overall out of 120 entrants, but we were chuffed that day. So chuffed we forgot to refuel the truck on the way home and ran out of fuel! Luckily the van, an old VW LT, was petrol, so we ended up syphoning the last of the petrol out of the mk2 to put in the van so we could get home!

Photo was taken at a corporate event where we set up a "mini-stage" around farm and did flying laps with the clients in the passanger seat! Most came out smiling, a couple came out a bit green!

It was a birthday treat from my son. The real treat being we spend a day together, (without a grumpy girlfiend in tow moaning about cold and food), something you don't get to do much as they get older.

I like Snetterton and the money spend in recent years by Jonathan Palmers lot has made it much better as a venue for spectators.

Calendar is here http://www.snetterton.co.uk/calendar.aspx

And forumite @Martyn Scott is racing in October? as mentioned in his thread https://zroadster.org/threads/new-to-the-forum.12196/
