Touch up of stone chips is a difficult one to get right - a temporary measure until time for a proper fix.

I’ve used Chilpex with mixed results. Other method is to clean the chip and fill with paint forming a blob just above the surface and leave to dry for a few days to harden and wet sand back with 3000 grit and then buff off with machine polisher but does take some practice. If you ha e an old panel I would practice on that first. Some good threads on http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=153965

With it being such a lovely day today I had a bash at touching up some of my stone chips. I bought dr color chip. Must say not a bad product it is certainly better then the normal touch up paints. The colour match was spot on and simple to use as well. Quite expensive but good results so far.

I've used Chipex on my Sterling Grey Z4 with great results. It does take a bit of time and care but the finish is very acceptable overall. It gets my vote.

I’ve tried Chipex. Mixed results would be the most generous I could say.

But it’s a nice if expensive paint to apply in the normal way.

And it introduced me to those excellent micro makeup brush thingies.

Don't use a brush, at work I use a small pointed thing with a very fine metal tip, (don't know what its called as I stole it from my daughter nail painting set) it works brilliantly as the tip can be put into the chip,

I recently used some of these to touch up some chips and they were so much better than anything else I've used.

Cool! Not easy to find though. So for the sake of £2.50 I've just ordered some of these.

I'm guessing all cotton wool bud type things will end up on wooden sticks soon due to enviro concerns.

Yup, these come as part of the Chipex kit and are even better than using toothpicks for chip filling!:)
