I feel it made a considerable difference to the car,
even on road use, even better at speed entering and exiting a bend/roundabouts
A great add-on

Not sure what the smalls nuts are for in the picture, you just need the spacers and female nuts
I think they are for the body strut?

They are great struts, I had bought it along with some rear slick tyres for when I thought I was going to track my coupe!

Then with 2 months until a screaming baby arrives it seems a Seat Leon diesel awaits and no Z3!

Although I have bought a clio 172 to track instead so can't complain.

Back to the point though, the Butt Strut is an asset to any Z3 roadster or coupe if you want to improve the handling and 'tightness' of the rear

Obviously its a bit lower. although looking under the car I felt it blended in with the contour of the pipes
and looked level with the bottom of the car
I was fortunate, I had it up on a lift and was able to view from a good angle
Going by recent threads people ground them on humps, I feel they must have lowered their cars
I was fortunate in purchasing it as the previous had a lowered car
and it was never used from the purchase from strong strut

As I said a great add-on
I have front and rear strong struts

I am surprised somebody has not snapped this up already
its an easy fit, and yes you can do it with the car on the floor
they say just drive on a bit of 4x2 timber "reverse", and of course being slim helps
hence the use of a lift lol

Does anyone have a design plan/measurements of these bars?

I now have a pair of these freshly refurbished and waiting to go on my car . I don't think its as easy as just measuring it, there are a few important angles. The bars have been formed and welded, if that's right jargon to the shape of the underside of the car for clearance

Ray,
If you don't mind, could you place some measurements?
On the strut brace: length hole to hole; when upside down on the floor, height (to know the clearance needed for the exhaust and the diff), and length of the middle piece (to know the length needed for diff and exhaust).
What is the thickness of the bar?
I suppose the parts that connect to the front are straight forward (also literally) with a bend on the end to be able to connect to the front X-strut.

I was thinking about making them in rectangular (hollow) box metal "tubes" ( example 40mm x 10mm 2mm thick walls - thinkness is top and down, so would make 4mm of connected material) instead of a solid bar (for the strut bar) or instead of the L-profil (for the front-to-back-brace)

Don't know if it would be even better to make that part also in an X instead of parallel straight to the front.
Anybody any thoughts on that?

If you look at the pictures of the body brace. The main strength comes from the angled metal. I am sure Strong Strut did a lot work and research getting the correct form and shape of the brace to allow for a crash and how it reacts. Changing it could detrimental to the brace. Especially in crash ??
I will try and get some dimensions. Unfortunately I'm having a shoulder Monday, I will be out of action for a considerable amount of time
