Mine has one. They supposedly stiffen up the front end. If they do or not I don't know.
Should be relatively easy to take it off to do a ‘before’ and ‘after’ comparison on the same stretch of road, preferably one that is less than perfect and with a few bendsUnder bonnet bling IMO
I’ll give you hand to check and scrub in the tyres whilst I’m at it...Mine has one. They supposedly stiffen up the front end. If they do or not I don't know.
You will so not . I've just forked out for two new rear tyres, I want at least 35 years out of themI’ll give you hand to check and scrub in the tyres whilst I’m at it...
Given that the Z3 is least rigid car made by BMW in modern times and that all their subsequent convertibles have them I’d say they work.
don't you hate those moments when if you could just go back and think it through before you slammed it.When I first got the zed I tried to fit an E36 strut brace to it. Not checking the clearance first, I slammed the bonnet shut leaving a great big dent in it.
Strut brace later went in the bin and no difference was noticed.
And it still sits nicely under my bonnet .I bought the same brace for my Z3 and made it fit without hitting the bonnet. I did suspect that it would as I fitted it and therefore closed the lid gently..
Tony.
Like Viagra, but for cars .They supposedly stiffen up the front end .
I have taken mine on and off and notice no difference whatsoever.
But I don't do track days, which may be the benefit.
In fact someone on here had the very expensive strong strut X brace one fitted under their car, and when taken to the garage and lifted on the ramps for another job, he then noticed that it had been nicked.
That to me sums up in a nutshell how much difference they make, no matter what people may believe.
But at least the added weight is counteracted by a lighter wallet..
Emporer's new clothes me thinks.
Unbelievable!!I have taken mine on and off and notice no difference whatsoever.
