Could anyone give me an idea of value on these, staggard Rs723 and Rs724, fit Z3, was professionally refurbished 3 year ago and only done about 14k miles, tyres are not much good as scrubbed on the insides, one rear inside is a different colour as I broke a drum and painted the replacement straight silver, I forgot the others where grey
Centres are dark
No corrosion at all

Its hard to say at the moment but the days of people listing for £1,000+ are long gone nor do I think people ever exchanged at that price either. I saw this set an v good condition with new tyres sell on ebay last year for £425.

£650-£750 without tyres as a guess.

Hello,

Style 42 split rims are becoming very difficult to obtain and as previously mentioned by Scooblitz range anywhere from £700-£1,300 being the most expensive I have seen, however I agree I very much doubt the more expensive sold.
I think a good price for a set of bolted style42 wheels minus tyres is around £600-£800, a good quality refurb can cost around £100 per rim if split and Refurbed correctly, which on top of the cost of wheels makes £650-£750/sound cheap.
Sean d’s wheels look as though they have been Refurbed correctly, then there is personal choice of colour, does it fit with the car, do you want machined and lacquered rims or painted, there are plus and minus for both options.
Machined and lacquered are as OE, however they are susceptible to stone chipping and water ingress (worming), but for the purest/perfectionist they are a must,
Alternatives are painted lips which will be harder wearing and much more resistant to salt and chipping.
The last couple of sets of split rims I have sold to members I had split, Refurbed and had the rims finished in a ‘Chrome finish’ paint which looks like the wheels have been machined (as picture) but you have the comfort of knowing they are much more resistant to stone chipping and salt. Really it’s down to personal choice,
Changing or refurbing wheels is probably the single most important and aesthetically pleasing change you can make to any car, not only will your car look great but it will almost certainly drive better on 17 or 18” alloys.

Staggered sets command a much higher premium than a square set.

The attached pictures are original silver painted centres and painted rims “Chrome finish’.

Sean d, I think Scooblitz made a good shout,

When I had my 108s done I wanted the rims diamond cut but 1 rim was ever so slightly out of round so couldn't be done. Second choice was the "Chrome" painted method which eventually looked spot on.

Like the shadow chrome. Allows the wheels to pop.

Semi temped with your old ones but I'd need to repaint. Only needing the rear 2 as well.

I'm having second thoughts on selling them pal, I might keep them and put winter tyres on them
