On my 99 Roadster… I have the left rear side tail light (single bulb) out and have checked fuses and light socket for power… the signal/tail light is fine. Just this one socket is … nada. Where should I look for break and or common harness issues? I checked the fuses and harness to the light assembly and all appears good.
Thanks… is there another breaker box?

On the off chance, have you checked the bulb works or tried another one, in the same socket, I have had bulbs that look perfect when checking the filament but wont work.

Yes… that was step 1. Step 2 was checking socket for power and it’s dead. Step 3 I went to Fuses and checked. Appears there are three fuses for rear tail lights. Checked all three… all good. Somewhere between fuse box and light assembly there is break or another fuse or connector that’s open. Any recommendations appreciated…

Loom of doom? The harness is attached to the boot lid. This moves every time the boot is opened and can fail. Also check for water in the well in boot just in front of the left light cluster. Antenna grommet is usually the source of any leak

I have replaced Antennae grommet, which I am proud to say I could do with nifty little trick and no dissassembly unlike YT vids. I will look at loom. Thanks!

No positive. The Neg is done at the light mount. So that’s seldom issue. Thanks.

Just had a look at wiring diagram for pre and post face-lift model both same unless you have the left and right light relay then your taillights directly fed from lightning switch only additional is a cable that goes to indicator switch for parking lightning.

Diagram without additional relay

And with relay

As drawn. The “left tail light” and “tail light left” are literally on same circuit, which was also in my mind, to just bridge them together at the assembly. I can disconnect original “+” to prevent crossing power and run these off same power wire in parallel. Glorious.

IT’S FIXED!!!
The schematic was helpful… but for different reason than how to rewire.
The Side Tail Light was poked into chassis hole that fits perfectly, instead of being in the socket hole of the fixture. I found this but noting the bridge between Left Tail Light and Side Left Light at the conmector. So the socket I was looking at was actually Turn light (clear?) one left housing. It may be reverse light. Anywho,,, it’s fixed. And when looking at Right Tail Light assembly, I found bulb was broken. So it also is fixed.
I feel so accomplished. 😆
