Did you roll back or stick with MariaDB?
I like the Customer Approvals process for Planned Works - "Testing" =))

We are now running MariaDB and don't plan to roll back.

James is incredibly busy and when he gets some spare time to do stuff like this it's not always with much notice. He'd already upgraded about 15 of his servers previously last night without issue, but the Zorg server is a little more optimised than his others (we like to push the tech boundaries for Zorg).

In this case it was an unforeseen issue with the nginx web server which we only run on Zorg. Basic rule is that nginx > apache, and is part of the reason why the site is sooooo quick. We've rolled back to Apache for now until we have a fix to run them together.

You would be surprised on how many updates we push through while the site is live and people are using it. Worst case the server only takes around 2 minutes for a full power down reboot as it's on SSD hard drives. :racecar:

I live in a surreal world. Broadcast is 30 seconds downtime minimum on any instance and telecoms used to be 20 seconds a year downtime - 99.9999% availability - a tough ask. You're running triplicated and majority vote systems with fast boot to core call processing to support 999 etc. The company can end up in court if someone dies because the network is down - focusses the mind somewhat. That was the 'old days'. I suspect that most telephony is now done using IP and SIP processors where its easier to build routing and processor redundancy and resilience.

I always find working on servers scary though. Sooooo much that can go wrong when they reboot. Hopefully nobody will die if your servers drop off. Just angry customers....
SSDs on servers - Don't tell my son - hell be after funding for his little estate

Well done James!

Sorry Tone, only just spotted this:thumbsup:
Yes. she is, and is behaving perfectly as usual, we were just catching up and chatting about meeting up next year! They are a lovely couple, it was great to see them last August in the Lakes, but a little sad to see Mora coming round the corner with someone else at the helm!!! She was a joy to drive, not because she was a Zed, but because she was mine!!! :coolsteer):scorecard:
