The Range Rover was in for maintenance today and for some strange reason the guys at the shop think I am a responsible person so they gave me the iX60M for a small test drive….
first of all, I have no idea on how to operate all these dashboards, functions, touch things and gizmos. Not even in my 1 series. I just know how to operate the radio and the climate control.
so yes, it seems that this electric bmw has every option in the catalogue and maybe some more, even massage seats and some ventilation that when you fart it pleasantly distributes the odour inside the cabin, but this guy is not the one to care about such stuff.
This elephant of a car accelerates like nothing else I have driven up to a final 250 km/h, with 0-100 km/h coming in just five or less seconds. Probably 3 but I was so scared and surprised that could not even think of keeping the time.
The speedometer goes from 120 to 200 km/h without you realizing a thing, so unless you've got Hans Zimmer's fancy electronic sound effects on and playing from the speakers and the seats vibrating, just the fluttering of the scenery will make you suspicious that you may be violating ever traffic law in the universe.
And the best part is that your senses "beg" you to repeat this acceleration over and over again just because you simply find it hard to believe that it can be true.
did not have the opportunity to drive it on twisty roads nor to evaluate how it behaves on rough surface, I was so mesmerised by the acceleration that all I did was flooring it and letting go for about 50 kilometres on the highway until the batteries reached 20% (I was given to me at 50%) and I had to drive back to the shop.
i am not sure if I liked it or not. I am not sure if this is classified to my brain as a vehicle or a gadget. But for sure it was an experience I will never forget.
