I just wanted to put a few of my thoughts down on the weekend in general. A lot of people put a lot of effort in to making the weekend as fun and enjoyable as possible for not just themselves but for the group.
Without getting over emotional, that was the best weekend I have had for some years!
(Apologies if I'm a bit general with details, and I hope I haven't missed anyone/anything out..)
We all know what Duncan did for us with the overall organisation of the weekend :-bd He had the embarrasing speech in the bar last night, so I won't do that again to him.
Thank you to those who catered & cooked bacon butties, made the teas and coffees, baked cakes/brownies. The onsite 'catering' was fantastic. The amount of gas bottles, tea bags, cool bags, cake boxes, deckchairs and other paraphanalia that came out of peoples cars was simply staggering.
Thanks to Snoops for the cracking show plates, ribbons and magnetic momentos. I took my show plates off when I got back to the hotel :ymblushing:
Thanks to Aceman for bringing some sample tee shirts, and putting a contribution from the sales in to the charity box!
Thanks to Daz3 who donated some vinyl exterior Zorg stickers to the site. These will be available to anyone for a donation to MNDA - drop me a PM (stocks are limited).
Thanks to everyone who put something in the charity box, whether for badges, butties, magnets or just to be lovely! I need to do a final count of what went in the box, but we took just under £145 in donations to the Motor Neurones Disease Association :-bd I shall add that to the sites Virgin Justgiving site later today.
Thanks to those who spread the Zorg word, handing out greeting cards etc.
As a final note about the hotel. There were a few issues, but I think in all cases the hotel worked hard to resolve them. From my own personal opinion I thought it was a cracking location, and the staff were keen and willing to resolve any issues. On the whole, would be more than happy to use them again, particularly if we get another free bar.
Thank you all for making a fantastic weekend, even better!
