Recently bought a z3 and the cable is sticking.

its the 2.0l inline 6 and it seems to be that i cant find the right part anywhere online!

Any ideas if any other cables from other BMW cars will fit?

Cheers

Best place to find parts is http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select. Type your VIN number in as per instructions and it will take you to parts for your car, well normally. Had a quick look myself by guessing the production month of your car but failed to find the cable, so you may have to dig around a bit. There is also a cross reference function that, having found the part number, will list the models that the part was fitted too.

When I got my 1.9 4cyl, I had the same thing with the throttle cable sticking.
I disconnected it from the engine, held it as high as possible and dripped 3 in 1 oil down the cable. Worked it down by moving the pedal and after a while it freed off. That was 3 months ago, and it’s still working ok with no problems. :)

Brilliant, thanks for the link, and if all else fails i might have to give the oil trick a go, ive done it with some older motorbikes, but never on a car
