A great shame but at least they were doing what they loved. I love Compton Abbas and used to fly in there often.

It's a sad story but it would be nice & respectful if the paper had shown a picture of a Tiger Moth instead of a Stampe SV4!

This is the picture from the article. It was meant to represent a Tiger moth, not the actual aircraft.

The Daily Mail is a rag and the so called 'journalists' are all a bunch of spotty work experience types that can't be bothered to look up a photo of the type of plane being posted in the article, same with most stuff on there.

I agree that the average journalist does not bother much with accuracy but if you compare the two photos, you can see that the one the paper published is a moth. The Moth and the Stampe are very similar but look at the typical DH tail fin on the second photo.

BBMF news on the grounding of the flight. The fault has been traced and work on going to get them in the air for the Scampton Air Show if possible.

Also, on BBC Looknorth this evening news of original blue print drawings for the De Havilland Mosquito have been found and will aid in building a complete "new" aero plane form scratch to get one back in the air. This was filmed at East Kirkby and an interview by one of the Panton family seemed to say it would be kept there.
