Thanks everyone! Great help, Found it in 4 inches of blue water.
Think the blue was the sealant hopefully not corrosion from copper ?
I’ve checked the cables as best as I can and can’t see any damage.
Poured water over the Ariel grommet-no obvious leak there !
Now disconnected, is it worth letting it dry out then reconnect it??
Hopefully this will cure the alarm issue!!

Worth a try, but there are other leaks which fill the boot on a Z3. 3rd brake light unit, rear roof seal, rear light unit seals.
